Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents separated to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. The actress landed her first part in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time in the financial department. The television film Murder in Greenwich, in which she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace left the show to concentrate on her acting career. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. The actress has also appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) Replays of these characters. Grace reprised her role as Shannon in Lost and the final episode. In 2013, Grace appears in the episode Californianation of the 6th Season. She plays Faith who is both an avid stargazer as well as a socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her sister in Donnie Darko the popular cult movie. The year 2002 saw her appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim in both of her roles as a lead character in Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). She was also nominated for her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother with a single child was nominated to an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. The subsequent roles she has played include Nanny McPhee, The Big Bang and Hysteria. Other roles she has played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as her role as the Kindergarten Teacher. Gyllenhaal debuted as a director and writer in 2021, with the drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
